Xiaomi YU7 Set for June 26 Launch

Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its first SUV, the Xiaomi YU7, on the evening of June 26. From the SU7 to the SU7 Ultra, Xiaomi vehicles often spark speculation about pricing ahead of their release. Recently, Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun addressed the rumors, stating, "The Xiaomi YU7's price won't be the rumored ¥235,900 (~$32,850). The final price will only be confirmed 1-2 days before the launch." Interestingly, unlike his comments prior to the SU7 and SU7 Ultra launches, where he stated the pricing might be "a bit expensive but not too much," this time, Lei Jun refrained from using the term "expensive."
According to official information, the Xiaomi YU7 will be available in three configurations. The base model will feature dual-layer acoustic glass, an 800V silicon carbide high-voltage platform, a 235kW V6s Plus motor, 835km (CLTC) range, continuously variable damping shock absorbers, LiDAR, NVIDIA Thor 700 TOPS autonomous driving chip, and Xiaomi's Sky Screen panoramic display, among other features. Based on these specifications, the entry-level YU7 (Long-Range RWD) is likely to be positioned against the mid-tier SU7 (Long-Range RWD Advanced Pro), priced at ¥245,900 (~$34,240), but with even higher-end features. A starting price of approximately ¥250,000 (~$34,830) seems reasonable for the YU7.
The mid-level YU7 (Long-Range AWD Pro) will focus on enhanced performance, featuring a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system and closed dual-chamber air suspension. This model is expected to be priced roughly ¥30,000 (~$4,180) higher than the base version. The top-tier model will come equipped with dual-motor high-performance AWD, a 101.7kWh ternary lithium battery, Brembo four-piston calipers, soft-close doors, and additional luxury and comfort upgrades. While the exact premium features are yet to be disclosed, it's anticipated that this version will exceed ¥300,000 (~$41,800).
Considering the specifications, the YU7 is expected to be priced between ¥250,000-¥320,000 (~$34,830-$44,570). This pricing strategy ensures a clear distinction from the SU7 while maintaining competitiveness with models like the Tesla Model Y. If Xiaomi sets the price between ¥230,000-¥300,000 (~$32,030-$41,800), as many consumers hope, it could generate even greater excitement. Regardless of the final pricing, Xiaomi is likely to offer special benefits for YU7 buyers, possibly including options for SU7 reservation holders to switch to the YU7. More details will be revealed at the official launch event.
In terms of performance, the YU7 lineup will feature an 800V silicon carbide high-voltage platform across all models. The three variants include the Long-Range RWD, Long-Range AWD Pro, and Long-Range High-Performance AWD Max. Their respective motor outputs are 235kW, 365kW, and 508kW, with 0-100 km/h acceleration times of 5.88 seconds, 4.27 seconds, and 3.23 seconds. The CLTC range is rated at 835km, 770km, and 760km, respectively. All models will come standard with continuously variable damping shock absorbers and four-piston fixed calipers.
