Volkswagen Plans to Launch ID.2 GTI Clubsport Edition

Volkswagen has announced plans to introduce the ID.2 GTI Clubsport edition, a high-performance variant of the ID.2 GTI. Built on the MEB Entry platform, the Clubsport version promises enhanced power, revised chassis tuning, and limited-production exclusivity. The ID.2 GTI is expected to debut by the end of 2026, featuring Volkswagen's next-generation APP550 electric motor with an estimated output of 280 horsepower. It will also be equipped with a battery capacity exceeding 50 kWh, delivering a maximum range of approximately 450 kilometers (280 miles).

Based on earlier spy shots of the ID.2 GTI, the model retains Volkswagen's signature horizontal headlight design and features a closed front grille. It is also expected to incorporate an illuminated logo. The front bumper showcases a continuous heat-dissipation opening design, complemented by vertically arranged air intakes on both sides. Additionally, the vehicle includes a small-sized front lip spoiler for aerodynamic optimization.

At the rear, the ID.2 GTI Clubsport is equipped with a semi-enclosed roof spoiler and a rear window wiper. The taillight units feature a distinctive rectangular design. The license plate holder is positioned centrally within the rear bumper, which also includes diffuser-like decorative elements for added sporty appeal.
