Aston Martin DB12 S Volante Spy Shots Reveal Over 720 Horsepower Convertible

Spy shots of the high-performance Aston Martin DB12 S Volante convertible have surfaced, showcasing a model expected to bear the name "DB12 S Volante." This upgraded car features enhancements to its powertrain, suspension, and aerodynamics, with reports suggesting a maximum output exceeding 720 horsepower. The official debut is anticipated in 2025.
From the spy photos, the DB12 S Volante is equipped with a more aggressive aerodynamic package. The ride height is noticeably lower than the standard DB12 Volante. Its signature large grille is paired with a front splitter, and the lowered stance amplifies its athletic presence. Despite being a convertible, the car retains elegant lines even with the roof closed. The addition of race-inspired air vents on the front fender manages wheel arch turbulence and improves downforce. At the rear, the quad exhaust tips are uniquely arranged in a stacked layout, complemented by a subtle ducktail spoiler, blending high-performance aesthetics with refined elegance.
The DB12 S Volante will continue to feature a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. Its powertrain is likely to draw inspiration from the recently launched Aston Martin DBX S, which utilizes turbocharger technology from the Valhalla hypercar. The DBX S's engine delivers 727 horsepower and is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, enabling a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration in just 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 310 km/h (193 mph). Given these benchmarks, the DB12 S Volante is poised to set new performance standards for Aston Martin's convertible lineup.
